Corroborated by the BCU's own "Cronograma de entradas, adquisiciones y fusiones de empresas de seguros" workbook (quarterly market structure 1996-Q1 to 2026-Q2, 16 companies at 2026-06) and by two BCU Comunicaciones establishing the name changes.
Reconciled against the BCU/SSF "Empresas de Seguros" register (16 companies, retrieved 23 Sep 2026): 10 of the 15 rows matched. Five rows left: HDI Seguros Uruguay renamed BARBUSS SEGUROS (URUGUAY) S.A. (BCU Comunicación 2026/057) and AIG Uruguay renamed SBI Seguros Uruguay S.A. (BCU market-structure workbook), while Chubb, Coface and Fianzas Uruguay appear nowhere in the BCU's 1996-2026 record of licensed insurers. Six companies were added. The register publishes no licence category, so no class was corrected; the BCU's separate list of six mutual-aid associations ("Mutuas") is not included.
