Partially verified - the supervisor's own Annual Report 2020 annex lists all 22 insurance companies operating in Lao PDR, confirmed by the Annual Report 2021, but nothing newer than 2021 is published · Ministry of Finance, Department of State-Owned Enterprise Reform and Insurance (now the Financial Enterprises Regulatory Department), Insurance Business Supervision Annual Report 2020, annex 'List of insurance companies operating business in Lao PDR (2020)': 22 companies with their Lao name, English name (the cell is blank for nos. 15 and 19) and business type; cross-checked against the Annual Report 2021, section 6.2, which names the same 22 with their 2021 premiums and states the market holds 8 general, 11 composite and 3 life companies.
Reconciled against the insurance supervisor's own Annual Report 2020, whose annex lists the 22 insurance companies operating in Lao PDR, and its Annual Report 2021, which names the same 22: 6 rows matched, 16 companies added, 1 row removed ('Lao Insurance Co', which is on neither list), and Dhipaya's class corrected to composite. Nothing more recent than 2021 is published by the department, and the 2021 report records that new insurance-company registrations were suspended until 2025.
