Verification log
Partially verified - Government of Nauru states no insurance companies or agencies operate in Nauru; one cross-border insurer confirmed · Government of Nauru, "Policy for regulating Financial Institutions for the Prevention of Anti-Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Proliferation Financing" (PDF dated Oct 2023), section on the IAIS: "There are no insurance companies or agencies currently operating in Nauru", https://www.nauru.gov.nr/media/194545/policy_for_regulating_financial_institutions_for_the_prevention_of_anti-money_laundering__terrorist_financing_and_proliferation_financing.pdf; PCRIC news, "Nauru becomes 11th PCRIC Council Member with Purchase of Drought Protection Policy" (2 Apr 2026), https://pcric.org/2026/04/page/2/; retrieved 2026-09-26. Count: 0 local.
No locally incorporated or licensed insurer. The only insurer with a confirmed Nauru policy is PCRIC, a regional captive in the Cook Islands that writes parametric drought cover for the Government of Nauru (cover from 1 April 2026). No source was found for private cover sold in Nauru by Australian or Fijian insurers; residents and expatriates presumably buy cover offshore, but that is unverified. The lead's "Nauru Insurance Corporation" was not found in any current source.
