    The FSC organic act assigns insurance-market and insurance-enterprise supervision to its Insurance Bureau.

Reconciled against FSC's five lists of licensed insurers (domestic life, foreign life branches, domestic non-life, foreign non-life branches, foreign reinsurer branches): 33 rows matched, 10 insurers added (including AIA's Taiwan branch, Farglory Life, BNP Paribas Cardif TCB Life, Nan Shan General, CTBC Insurance, the fishing-vessel mutual, Coface, Allianz Trade, and the RGA and Gen Re branches), and 3 rows removed: Shin Kong Life merged into Taishin Life, which now trades as Shin Kong Life; Zurich and 'Global Life' are absent. TREIF is kept as a statutory fund outside the FSC's insurer lists. Two non-life companies in liquidation and four reinsurer liaison offices were not added.
